To clean your rug, start by vacuuming regularly to lift dust and dirt, then treat spills straight away by blotting (never rubbing) with a clean, dry cloth. For marks, spot-clean with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild detergent, then blot dry. Always check the care label first.

For larger rugs, wash by hand in the bath using lukewarm water and a gentle cleaner, then rinse thoroughly. Dry flat or hang over a line away from direct heat.
What is the best kind of rug for a dining room?
The best dining room rugs are low pile which let chairs slide in and out easily and are simple to vacuum. Patterned or mid-tone designs are better at hiding marks than plain pale colours. We recommend avoiding shaggy, deep-pile rugs under a dining table, as food and chair legs can get caught in the pile.
